Not just products, but actually understanding the nuances of the products that should or should not be included in my skin care routine. While makeup can make us look a few years younger, taking care of your skin on an everyday basis can rewind the age of your skin for real! And when it comes to skin care, the most important step for me in skin care is to use a Sunscreen.
It’s a common myth that Sunscreens should not be used on cloudy/rainy days, etc. But believe me, the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays are penetrating through your windows as well. These rays not only add to the tan and pigmentation, but also bring along, fine lines and wrinkles and other radical damage that is caused to the skin making it age faster and, in most cases irreversibly too. To protect our skin from aging faster, one of the best ways is to use the right sunscreen. I had the opportunity to associate with Dermafique, a brand by ITC, and have been trying out the Soleil Defense for a bit now. Before I move on to my review, let me give you a quick introduction to Dermafique’s new range of Sunscreens.
Dermafique has recently launched its new Sun care System. The first one is called the Soliel Defense Matte which is for people with a Normal to Oily Skin Type, whereas the Soleil Defense (Gel Creme), is meant for people with all Skin Types.

My skin type is dry and sensitive which is why I opted for the Soleil Defense (Gel Creme), is meant for people with all Skin Types.
To be honest, I love how it feels on my skin. It hydrates my dry skin from within, without feeling heavy or being visible on the skin, while protecting it from the sun’s harmful rays. Also, ever since I’ve started actively included sun protection in my skin care routine, my skin feels and appears healthier and looks more even as well.
The Soleil Defense [Gel Crème] is a multifaceted sun care system powered by revolutionary Full Light Technology. (Visible Light, UVA & UVB rays) It is designed to protect your skin from the entire Sun Spectrum with SPF 30 and PA++. Soleil Defense [Gel Crème] is an oil-in-water emulsion that imparts a light sensorial. Its gel-based formula makes it incredibly comfortable to wear even on a tropical day. It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey on the skin. And trust me when I say, there is absolutely no white mask left behind upon application! I think if anything, I am always left with a healthy and ready to go face the day!
It is available in a 50 gm packaging for INR 749 only and is suitable for all skin types. The Packaging has a pump dispenser which makes it easy to travel with and use the product without any leakage or spillage.

I always emphasis on the fact that one should use skin care products only as per one’s skin type! It makes me so happy that Dermafique has a sunscreen for people with an oily-to-normal skin type as well.
When it comes to sun care, just protection from UV rays is not sufficient. Infrared rays are known to generate adverse heat that can cause elastosis (degenerative changes in the dermal tissue). Even Visible light penetrates deep into the skin and causes oxidative damage.
