All of us love to scout through the beauty section at the malls and when we are shopping online! It’s not funny how many beauty products I stock on, each time I go shopping. And I must admit, most of the times, I can really do without them! It is also not like I am a shopaholic! But come on, how else would have I started this blog for you lovely readers! But then my shopping spree does annoy my mother a lil’ bit! She is a fan of everything natural and home-made when it comes to taking care of the hair and the skin. And I don’t blame her at all. Isn’t that a much better way to be saving money, using everything organic and natural to pamper your face and hair and above all, isn’t it cool to have everything available in your home kitchen at most given times?
So here’s sharing with you some simple beauty fixes which are easily available in the home kitchen!
Slice a potato and place it under your eyes for about 15 minutes and wash it off with cold water to get rid of dark circles. Following this twice a week will really work at lightening your dark circles.
Mix lime juice with glycerin* and apply it on pigmented areas of your face. It might tingle a bit on your face. That is because the acidic properties from the lime are working on your skin. Leave this mix on your face for 15-20 minutes and follow it up with a cold water rinse. Follow this twice a week for best results. (*Glycerin is easily available at any medical/ pharmacy outlets and costs a very little amount.)
Slice a tomato and rub it on your face for two minutes. Let the tomato juice rest on your face for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. This will help you get rid of the unwanted tan.
Juice out some cucumber. Use this as a natural toner to apply on your face with a cotton swab. You could let it stay on your face and follow it up with a light weight moisturiser or wash it off with cold water.
Milk has amazing lactic acid properties and you can use plain cold milk to cleanse your face of the grime at the end of the day. Just dip a cotton swab into a little quantity of cold milk and gently rub it on your skin. You can follow it up with a cold water rinse or use a mild cleanser to wash your face after.
Mix some curd with honey and lime drops and apply this pack on your face for 20-25 minutes until the pack dries off. Wash it off with cold water. It is preferable to do this before you hit the sack, so your skin can work better at rejuvenating when you are asleep and in resting mode.
Take a teaspoon of baking soda and mix a few drops of lemon juice to it. Use this mix to scrub on your nose to get rid of blackheads. Scrub your nose gently for two minutes and wash it off with water.
Now, a simple make-up trick for you with beetroot! If you love having lip and cheek tints and fear using make-up all the time, this one is for you! Take a beetroot and shred it nicely, add some moisturizer/ Vaseline to it and keep it nicely in a small container in your fridge. You can use this home-made balm instead of the ones available in the market!
